The Contact Sensors, which are a part of the Ring Alarm System, are touted for use with standard doors and windows, among other things. Protective measures for garage doors are also an option. Where should the garage door sensor be placed?

In many cases, the bottom of the garage door opens. You may, however, want to avoid putting one side of your sensor down. If you’re a cautious driver, you might easily drive over it. It’s recommended to mount it on a wall or garage door frame at a height of at least 1-2 feet above ground level. At this height, it will be less vulnerable to the weather, but it will still be able to tell whether the door has been opened or closed.

It is possible to get an alert if the garage door begins to open or if there is any movement near the garage door that you aren’t expecting. Either outside or within your garage, a camera may be installed – or both!

If your Ring Base Station isn’t that near, but you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, this may be a more viable choice. A Wi-Fi extender may even be simpler to operate than a Range Extender.

The Ecolink Garage Door Tilt Sensor may be purchased for $29.99 at this location. This sensor allows you to monitor your garage door status from the Ring app. Despite the fact that this device is compatible with the Ring Alarm System, it does not operate with the 24/7 Professional monitoring service that is available as an extra add-on. As a result, it will not be able to wake you up in the morning.
